The original article by Glenn Greenwald can be found here and if you value the U.S. Constitution and the freedoms granted unto as a citizen, you’ll read it.
Suffice to say, the fact that our leaders are taking powers for themselves that the founding fathers never intended for them to have is quite obvious. This bill has the potential to open the door so that anyone might be silenced in the future who would voice opposition to the ruling body. That isn’t to say the bill directly does this, but it opens the door down the road for laws that would restrict our freedoms even further, which could cast us fully into a fascist state.
It is far more than a simple mile taken after the American public has given inches in the hope for safety. What good is safety this bill offers to provide the general public if you don’t have the freedom to make it worth while? We all might as well succumb to our fears and dig bomb shelters akin to what is seen in the video game Fallout, and hide away in our self imposed prisons until we’re given the all clear if such would ever be given. Bottom line, Glenn’s appraisal of the bill’s largest myths is eye opening. We all would be well served to understand that this bill represents yet another significant turning point in America.
